MARKET STORY

From Damyang market-day history to a market for daily life and travel

Tourism records trace Damyang’s market tradition back to a document compiled in 1770. The town’s bamboo culture and market life have remained closely tied to local residents.

Carrying on the memory of the traditional five-day market, today’s Damyang Market opened in a new building on 26 April 2024. Shops, restaurants, a bakery café and a rooftop garden now welcome both residents and visitors.
